With four months down, I thought it would be fun to pick 24 things to work towards before the end of the year. Hopefully, this list won’t be too overwhelming to tackle. I’m going to be as flexible as possible because you never know what the future holds. Remember 2020 threw us all for a loop. So here’s my 24 for 2024.
24 For 2024: Things I Would Like to Accomplish
First goal – write out the complete list of 24 (Completed May 2, 2024)
While writing this list I wanted to place things into categories. The first two that came to mind were Personal and Professional Development. But first I needed to know the difference.
“…personal development aims to improve one’s physical, emotional, or social well-being while professional development aims to improve one’s performance in a specific role or in their career..” – Personal vs. Professional Development Plans via LinkedIn Learning Hub
Professional Development
- Learn a new skill. You should never stop learning. Lately, most of my research and learning are related to business, which is great. However, I would like to learn something new outside of business.
- Attend 2-3 networking events. It’s been way too long since I attended anything outside of family outings/functions. So it is time for me to get back out there and meet some new people.
- Photoshoot! I am in desperate need of some new professional photos to use for different projects I’m working on.
Personal Development
- Try a new hobby. I’ve monetized some of my favorite hobbies. Or stop doing them due to a lack of interest. Now I need a new hobby and something that I enjoy and won’t try to turn into a business.
- Reading used to be my thing growing up. I kicked my reading slump last year, only to get back into one. (Hoping to get out of it) This year my goal is to read 12 books either physical, digital or in audio format. (Status: read 5 books so far)
- I want to establish a morning and evening routine.
- Do a self-care day: Self-care is definitely a big buzz term lately. For each person, it means something different. I haven’t quite defined it yet for myself.
- Find a natural hair stylist or barber. I went natural (meaning no relaxer) six years this July and would really like to find my go-to hairstyle to rock. Just need to find my go-to person.
- Attend more family related outings or functions.
- Create a wardrobe capsule.
Health-related
- Add 2 fruits and 1 vegetable to my diet. I eat a lot of junk and processed foods. As I get older I can’t keep eating the same way.
- Make and go to all necessary doctor appointments. (Status: already did 1, did my yearly mammogram and I’m good to go for next year)
- Reach goal weight of 150 lbs.
Financial
- Look into retirement plans. I have to start planning my future. Hope it’s not too late.
- Restart my investment journey. This will overlap with the retirement plan.
- Earn $500 with side hustles.
- Establish my passive income source.
Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone
These goals are going to give me the hardest time. I get knocked off my game really easily when things change.
- Try one new dish. I’m a creature of habit. I eat what I like and rarely deviate. It’s time for a change.
- Learn to cook 2-3 dishes. It takes me forever to decide what I want to eat. On top of that, I’m too lazy to cook. This leads to me eating out more. I want to eat at home more.
The Final 4 of My 24 For 2024 List
These last goals I could’t really fit into a category. So here you go.
- Start blogging again (Completed May 1, 2024 – artiatesiadeal.com is a back baby!)
- Get re-approved for Google AdSense (again)
- Project Declutter: sell, trash, or donate 24 items
- LIVE MY BEST LIFE! (I think this one will be magical)
We have come to the end of my first ever goal list: 24 for 2024. As you can see some items have been completed in full or partial. However there’s still a lot left for me to work on. I hope you come back to check in on my status.
